The Tree That Started It All
Some stories begin with an idea.
Ours began with a single cypress tree.
For more than twenty years, there's been a cypress tree standing just beyond the seawall of our family's lake house that has quietly become part of our lives. Then, the shoreline looked very different. An overgrown island filled with brush and fallen trees sat just beyond the water's edge blocking our lake front access. When the lake level dropped, we brought in equipment, cleared the island, and restored the shoreline.
We decided to keep the one small cypress tree.
At the time, it was nothing more than a slender tree rising from the water. It had no broad base, no cypress knees, and nothing that hinted at what it would one day become.
Year after year, we watched it grow.
While the tree itself gained only a few feet in height, its true growth happened below. Its trunk widened. Its roots strengthened. Cypress knees slowly emerged from the water, anchoring it deeper with every passing season.
That tree became a reminder that the strongest things in life aren't built overnight. They grow quietly, season after season, with deep roots and a strong foundation as many family heritages do.
For us, the cypress came to represent everything we love about the South - its resilience, its heritage, and the places where so many of our memories are made. Whether standing along a quiet lake, winding river, flooded timber, or bayou or simply being one of God's timeless creations, the cypress has always been a symbol of the Southern landscape.
Just as the cypress grew stronger with every passing season, so did the idea that one day became Cypress Roads. There was never a question what our logo would be.
It had been growing with us all along.
Today, that tree reminds us that every journey begins somewhere, every tradition has a starting point, and every road leads back to the places that shape who we are.
Welcome to Cypress Roads.
Deep Roots. Southern Roads.
